This is our world, and it's very broken. When you turn on the news or look at your social media feed, what you see is a lot of death, disease, and suffering.

God's perfect design
-----------------------------
But we also see traces of beauty, like the beauty of a sunset, or the laugh of a child. And that's because God's design was perfect when he made it. There was no death, or disease, or suffering.

Genesis 1:31 - God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

Broken World
------------------------
But starting with the very first people, we as humans, chose to go our own way, and leave God's perfect design.  And that's called sin. Sin is what led to brokenness.

Isaiah 53:6 - We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way.

And we don't like to be in brokenness, this state of sin that we're born into. So we try to get out. For some, they try to get out by climbing the ladder of success at work or in school. Others try to get out themselves by doing good things, or being religious and going to church and helping people. And while those are all great things, they don't get us out of brokenness. Some try to drown out the brokenness with drugs and alcohol, or attempts at suicide. All of these efforts that we make to get out of brokenness ourselves, only end up snapping us back like a bungee cord, right back into brokenness. And if we continue our lives in sin and brokenness, there's a high price to pay.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death

But God...
-------------------------------
But God loved us so much, that he didn't want us to stay in brokenness. So he did for us, what we could not do for ourselves. He provided the only way out, and that is through his son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus came down into our world, lived a perfect life, and allowed himself to be killed on a cross, paying the price for our sin (remember from Romans 6:23, the wages of sin is death), and three days later He rose from the dead. And He declared that if anyone would turn from their way and surrender to Him, and believe that Jesus came and died on the cross (paying the debt for their sin), rose from the dead, and would be willing to make Jesus their Lord and King, they would be forgiven, and made new, and would then be able to experience God's perfect design for their life.

Romans 10:9-10 confirms this-  "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved".

The Most Important Question  - Are you still in brokenness, or have you repented and believe in Jesus, and are back in His design?

The God that created the universe and everything in it, would also like to have a relationship with YOU!  He loves you so much that He even came down to earth as a human, and died for you. There is no greater love than this! Click HERE  to learn how to be SAVED now!

Now, let's get back to the question, "Who is Jesus?" He is one divine Being of the Godhead, often referred to as the Trinity.

The Trinity  - is the foundational Christian belief that God is one Being who exists in three Persons. (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). (Genesis 1:1263:2211:7Isaiah 6:848:1661:1Matthew 3:16–1728:192 Corinthians 13:14)

However, it's important to remember there is only One God. (Deuteronomy 6:41 Corinthians 8:4Galatians 3:201 Timothy 2:5)

I like to use the analogy of a Triangle:  Three points, one shape: The three points represent the distinct persons of the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—while the single triangular shape represents the one divine essence they share.

Why Christianity?

A common question that is asked goes as follows, “What makes you Christians so sure that you are right and all the other religions are wrong?” Often, this kind of question is accompanied by a few assumptions, such as:

  • All religions are merely different paths to the same God

  • Most religions teach basically the same thing

  • Differences between religions are minor

  • There is value and truth in every religion

A study of all the religions reveals that there are significant differences between them.  Given the number and extent of these contradictions, it would be naive and even foolish to believe that all religions are equally valid. Quite simply, it is impossible for all of them to be true, because their teachings contradict each other. They each have different views of the afterlife, and they each teach a different path to salvation, or how to make it to eternal life.

This leaves only two possibilities:  Either all religions are wrong, or only one religion is right.  It would be illogical to take the viewpoint that all religions are wrong. The simple fact that billions of people are seeking spiritual truth, proves that we are spiritual in nature. We were created with a spirit that seeks truth, and longs to be in relationship with it's creator.  More proof that we were created with eternal spirits is the thousands of documented NDEs (near death experiences), and their testimonies of still having an awareness after the physical death of the body.

This only leaves one possibility:  Only one religion is right.  So if Christianity is the one that is right, what unique claims does it have? This list is not all inclusive, however, it contains two of the most profound reasons that leave no doubt in the mind, as to which religion is right.

  • Christianity's written guidance (the Bible), contains two major sections, the Old Testament, and the New Testament, and they are separated by roughly 400 years.  Every Old Testament prophecy about Jesus Christ (scholars put the number at about 300) were fulfilled to the letter.  The chances of Jesus even fulfilling a dozen of these prophecies over 400 years after they were written, are astronomical. But He didn't just fulfill a dozen.....He fulfilled EVERY single one of them that was written 400 years earlier. Of the roughly 2,500 prophecies throughout the Bible, scholars put the number fulfilled so far at around 2,000. One example is Israel becoming a nation in 1948. This alone fulfilled at least 10 prophecies.  Other than Christianity, not a single religion can make a claim of even one fulfilled prophecy. This proves that the God of Christianity is omniscient (all knowing), and even declared the end from the beginning.  (Isaiah 46:10)

  • The miracles of Jesus Christ are well documented. These miracles were witnessed by thousands and documented, for the most part, by four New Testament authors in the Gospels, (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John).  The fact that Jesus performed miracles has also been documented by secular writers, including Tactitus (Roman historian), Josephus (Jewish historian), Lucian (Greek lecturer , and Pliny (a Roman governor). These secular sources offer historical corroboration of Jesus's miraculous abilities, even if framed negatively or indirectly.  No other religion even compares when it comes to the sheer number of miracles performed, documented by multiple witnesses,  and corroborated by multiple sources, even some that are not even religious in nature. This proves without a doubt, that Jesus Christ, the God of Christianity, is omnipotent, or all-powerful.
